Supermodel Iman gets her start at NYFW

While on her way to a political science class in Nairobi, the life of soon-to-be supermodel Iman would change forever when she was spotted by American photograph Peter Beard. Soon after, the face of the fashion industry would change forever...

~ Just goes to show just how timeless Ines Gloves really are... this is one of Iman's very first photographs in Vogue as a model in the United States. It was taken with a pair of  my everyday glace leather gloves... in the 1980s!

Soon after landing in the United States, Iman began working. In fact, on her third day, she began working for Vogue. Her first fashion show was Halston, while her second was Calvin Klein.
